Ha so I was just listening to the song Just a Kiss by Lady Antebellum. It’s a pretty great song if you ask me, mainly cause Lady A is a pretty good band, and because its just a generally appealing song. I don’t know exactly what it was, but it made me think of this summer. I can just sit back close my eyes, and think about driving home from church on a Wednesday night. It really makes me miss it. Not entirely sure why. I could go back to those nights in a heartbeat, but this is where I am and it just wouldn’t feel the same there anymore. It’s a very confusing dilemma. Missing something so much, but at the same time knowing that you must be separated. And then you miss it, but missing it isn’t quite the same. You become ok with not being able to be with it anymore. You kinda grow out of it.
And so I’ve grown out of a lot of things. I miss all of those things dearly, and its nice to come back to them every now and then. You have to replace everything very frequently in your life or you become overly obsessive or you become extremely bored and unsatisfied, and its rough. You don’t know how to change and change is tough because its different. Changing into college is something I’ve dealt with lately and its been an awesome, but changing experience.
What I’ve done my best to hold onto is my faith. My beliefs. My God. He’s the one unchanging thing you can find everywhere in your life if you are a Christian. He’s been constant for me, and He is the thing I hold fast to when everything else is changing. Looking back, He’s pulling me forward, into His will. He helps me grow out of the things that hold me back, and I do my best to be thankful. Stay classy San Diego!
